Green Reform Enterprise Evolution Network- GREEN

SIF runs a scheme captioned ‘GREEN’ – (Green Reform Enterprise Evolution Network) to nurture the interest of the youth towards food and agribusiness using value chain approaches, establishing factory farms, creating local and external Markets and sprouting Industries. The concept is replicable and financially sustainable. Our goal is for those young people to become industrialist and to establish themselves on their own farms, build their economic capacities and grow their farming operations

FARM – Market – Industry

The concept of GREEN emerged after an in-depth research into food security and agribusiness and the diminishing interest of young people towards this sector. SIF realised the enormous untapped opportunities and growth potentials in Agriculture within the Sub Saharan African region using Ghana as a case study. This motivated the pressing need to employ fresh thinking and new ways of averting this challenge.

GREEN is breeding a new generation and a critical mass of youth including graduates, university students and young professionals to be interested in agribusiness as a fulltime occupation. The Ultimate goal is for those young people to become industrialist and to establish themselves on their own farms, build their economic capacities and grow their farming operations. GREEN’s approach creates an enabling environment for productive partnerships and facilitates collaborations among key players, and also implements a unique support system for its beneficiaries.

SIF promotes this scheme with Individuals, Private sector: Media, leaders of institution of higher education, Civil Society Organisations and Social Investors. Our goal is for policy makers to create incentives for young people, particularly well educated and entrepreneurial people to take up farming & Agribusiness as a fulltime occupation and to build their economic capacities.

GREEN has a unique recommendation and Selection Criteria. Once our beneficiaries are selected and adopted into the system, they come out as owning their own farms and Agribusinesses with Our license for a ready Market. The License certifies them to trade the GREEN Commodities Market –GCM.
